New Hampshire has a high median household income at $63,942. The state ranks third and comes in behind Maryland and New Jersey, both noted for having a higher-than-average cost of living.

According to BeerAdvocate, a user-driven website about all things beer, New Hampshire residents consume on average, 43.4 gallons of beer each year. Only Nevada (which has Las Vegas) beats New Hampshire on this measure.

This speaks to New Hampshire’s micro and macrobreweries, as well as national distributed breweries.

Most Livable State

New Hampshire was ranked as the most livable state by CQ Press in 2008.  Overall quality of life, education, income and crime rates were among the factors considered for the rankings.

Low Poverty Level

According to the Annual Social and Economic (ASEC) Supplement’s Poverty Status By State report for 2007, New Hampshire has the lowest percentage of people below the poverty level of all states.
